Description: This 8-hour continuing education course is designed for Building and Fire Code Officials, assistant code officials, inspectors, and people managers. The purpose is to introduce officials and technical assistants on the steps required for preparing for a court case including collecting and organizing information, working cross-functionally with various departments and government officials, and understanding the basics of courtroom etiquette. The course culminates with traveling to a local courtroom to attend a live mock trial where participants present their case with a local judge and legal representation. Persons taking this course should have basic knowledge of the legal administration of inspections in the state of Virginia.
